Case study in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen

My intention with this project was by strategy, innovation and design, to provoke. To prepare Bang & Olufsen for the future. I wanted to develop a new kind of product strategy and a platform for innovation.

Innovation in this case is not only to make data visual and physical, but also to work with integration in a new way. The integration with images rather than text and icons - makes the expression of the product and the interface more human.

Data is no longer something abstract - it is something that the user can relate to.

A reinterpretation of the cut-glass chandelier. for the Light Exhibition in Riga 2007.

The lamp consists of solid cubes of glass, composed in a ”cubistic” arrangement. Every simple cube of glass has been 3D laser-cut in a pattern. The different parts together form the picture of a classic pleated lampshade. Cubliss is a balance between innovation, humor and classicism and creates a modern twist of the cut-glass chandelier.

A new newspaper stand for Nyhedssavisen, Denmark

The stand or holder if so like, is placed in public busses. The project was about making the space around the free newspapers in the busses cleaner. Our solution was a holder that becomes smaller for every paper you take from it, this makes more space in the buss when the holder Is empty and prevents people from using It for litter. The fabric on the holder is easy changeable, so it will not look dirty and you can print your desired motive on it.

Nyhedsavisen Is closed now, but we had nothing to do with that!

This project was made in colloraboration with Henrik Christiansen.

Convesso is a deft play amid the space between concave and convex.

The Creamer and Sugar container are like two parts of split stalk. The creamer stands taller and has a sculpted recess to create the pouring lip. The Convesso set is made from porcelain and suggests a relax sense of routine.

In the very beginning the series was the result of collaboration with a well-known Swedish hotel located in the middle of the Swedish mountains. The location of the hotel mirrors the shape of the series. The black and white reflects the Swedish mountains with the mountain base and the snow white tops.

The project was unfortunately stranded due to cost efficiencies.

If you are interested in a set, please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.

This product is a new suggestion for transportation of vaccine. In emergency areas over the world, such as in war and natural disasters, gatherings of many people are vulnerable for deceaces and often exposed to epidemics.

Mostly, these epidemics take place in poor countries, which also are situated in areas very hard to reach logistically. To prevent and control the deceaces, people are vaccinated. Vaccine is very fragile in transportation and has to keep a temperature of 0-5 degrees °C. The coldbox consists of a simple shell of styrophor. Inside it is clad with hollow sticks of ceramic. When the sticks are exposed to heat, the physiological effect resembles the reaction in a wine cooler a hot summer day. This is a determining factor when vaccine has to be transported long distances in hot countries. With the coldbox, the right temperature of the vaccine is kept up to 25 % longer during the transport – and can therefore save more lives.

The project was awarded 2.nd prize in the Dyson Award 2005

Royal Copenhagen has a long history in Denmark, therefore have we let the inspiration come from the city.

We have tried to find something that’s typical for the capitol, something we all can recognize. There for we have chosen to use the original architect drawing from a typical apartment house Copenhagen building. The building is placed in the vest side of Copenhagen.

This concept was Awarded with the first prize in the annual Royal Copenhagen design competition 2006

Do you dare to role the dice?

DCTB made a competition where the goal was to make an artefact that could be sold on an auction, to collect money for breast cancer research. The artefact should make awareness about breast cancer.

The concept consists of 2 giant dice with a pictogram showing a torso of a naked woman. Some of the women only have one breast. If you role the dice there Is the same probability of the dice landing with 2 sides up where the women only have one breast as there is for women to get breast cancer, which Is one out of nine.

To describe the romantic feeling of a fisherman’s life and also give him something that’s make him feel special in a daily life. Also to be as a symbol of the fishermen at Skagen.

To prevent any danger, the watch is equipped with a “tide-o-meter” which main function is to visualize the tide, to help the fisherman in a bad weather. The inspiration of the “tide-o-meter” comes from the light movement from the lighthouse.
When the indicator colour is blue there is flood, when orange there is ebb.

The design and choice of materials is inspired from daily life of the fishermen at Skagen.

This lightening project, called Harmonia, focuses on the meal and the togetherness around the dining table.

By spreading the light equally over the persons present, every one is given the same attention and status. The lamp is flexible by its quality of being able to change size; from its smallest position for fewer people and intimacy, to its full length for larger gatherings, or just more light. By its fabric clad, pleated plastic lampshade, it can easily be adjusted in size; from about 1000 mm to 1500 mm.

The lamp Harmonia was awarded 1st prize at the Markslöjd Light Prize 2007.

Workflow the dynamic desk

Workflow mainly solves two problems when doing desk-work

1. Wasting electricity
2. Back problems

A lot of electricity is wasted, for ex. when you don’t turn off your desk lamp when going to lunch. When using the Workflow desk the electricity is controlled by your computer. When your computer goes into hibernation it turns off everything connected to the desk, and that way it saves electricity. If you turn off your desk lamp when going to lunch you can save around 8000 watt or 8 kg of CO2 a year.

In the past back problems was connected to heavy lifts and so on. Today it is monotonous work positions that cause the back problems. The Workflow desk rises two times a day and in that way you have to stand up and work two times a day, this helps you to change work position.

The Workflow desk also gives you a lot of possibilities to set up your desk so it suits your needs.
